The "Valores de Futuro" Camp and United World Colleges The BBVA "Valores de futuro" educational program, in collaboration with the Spanish Committee for the United World Colleges Foundation, has organized the Future Values Camp for the students of the winning class from the 1000 and 1 Values Contest. United World Colleges (www.colegiosmundounido.es) is an international non-profit organization present in more than 125 countries that fosters a society of peace through multicultural education. Founded in 1962 and headed by Nelson Mandela and Queen Noor of Jordan, it currently has 13 centers for academic excellence in the Americas, Asia, Europe and Africa. Approximately 200 students from 80 countries, ages 16 to 19, study their International Baccalaureate at each of these colleges. This organization is responsible for planning three-week summer courses in which the selected students will have the opportunity to live and work together to foster international understanding in a fun environment. The Valores de Futuro Camp, held in Vilanova de Sau (Barcelona) from June 25th to 30th, has been designed so that students, ages 12 to 14, experience values such as responsibility, solidarity and social awareness and work under the Future Values educational program. The dynamics of the camp combine training and learning with fun using a methodology in which participants become the protagonists of their own knowledge, and thus, of their own personal development. Every day, the children will live new experiences combining adventure, social and artistic activities with debate groups, workshops and simulations. |
