Eduardo Arbizu (born in Pamplona, 6th January 1963) is the General Counsel of BBVA. Degree in law (with distinction), qualified as State Lawyer and AMP from Wharton.
After carrying out several positions in Spain Justice Department, Eduardo Arbizu joined Barclays Bank where we worked for 10 years. At first, as Secretary General and General Counsel of its Spanish subsidiary until 1997 when he was appointed CEO Spain and finally, in June 2000, he was appointed Managing Director of all Barclays Retail Operations in Continental Europe.
From 1990 to 1993 he was Lecturer of Administrative Law at ICADE.
In 2002 he joined BBVA as General Counsel and member of the Executive Committee. Today he is responsible for Legal and Compliance of BBVA Group.
