Kai-Fu Lee is a Taiwanese-born American businessman and writer, regarded as one of the world’s top AI experts. He graduated from Columbia University in computer science, and earned a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, where, as part of his thesis, he completed what is considered the first independent speech recognition system: Sphinx.

BBVA’s financial education programs and initiatives have benefited 15.5 million people from 2008-2019, of which 13.1 million are children and youth. According to the PISA report on financial skills presented by the OECD today, Spanish youth have improved in these skills, but continue to be below average compared to the countries included in the analysis.

30 students from across Spain participated in an educational program at BBVA in collaboration with the Princess of Girona Foundation. The sessions took place in Madrid – at BBVA’s Open Space and at the bank’s corporate headquarters, BBVA City. The students, between the ages of 21 and 30, were selected for their hard work and exemplary nature, and many of them are the first in their familiar to go to college. Bank experts in different professional skills were in charge of teaching the training sessions.

Leading financial education experts and researchers gathered together in Buenos Aires to attend the second edition of the BBVA EduFin Summit. Over the course of two days, guests discussed the importance of financial literacy as a lever to promote the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The 200 participants shared success stories and examples to illustrate progress and to underline the challenges that the sector is facing.
