BBVA Compass’ brand ambassador James Harden is at it again, bringing opportunities for a bright future for aspiring basketball players, holding a camp of over 650 kids at the Legend Sports Complex in The Woodlands, Texas the weekend of July 22.

The kids, who came from grades 1-12, experienced various stations specializing in the fundamental skills of basketball. BBVA Compass was the presenting supporter of the camp, aligning its mission of creating opportunities with Harden’s passion for giving back to his community.

“We’ve supported these camps for a long time and we were honored to do it once again in tandem with James,” said BBVA Compass Houston Market CEO Mark Montgomery. “He has shown time and again that he is extremely dedicated to helping kids reach their dreams, just like he reached his.”

The camp was held in The Woodlands during the weekend, on July 22 and 23, where Harden addressed campers and stressed the importance of hard work and dedication to achieve their goals. Several campers, winners of a social media contest, were given autographed shoes as well as BBVA Compass-branded items. A total of 10 campers also received scholarships for spots from BBVA Compass and James Harden to attend the camp as part of BBVA Compass’ Summer of Opportunity initiative.
