Javier Rodríguez Soler, Global Head of Sustainability and Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), has been named to American Banker’s inaugural “50 Most Innovative People in Finance” list. The recognition highlights his leadership in accelerating BBVA’s transformation through the integration of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and sustainability across the bank’s global operations. American Banker also recognized BBVA’s deployment of generative AI tools and continued investment in digital banking and sustainable finance solutions.

The financial institution has been recognized in the first edition of the EPBN-WISE LGBTIQ+ Inclusion Awards as one of the European companies most firmly committed to LGBTIQ+ inclusion in the workplace. The award recognizes organizations that have implemented concrete measures to create safe, diverse, and inclusive working environments.

The financial institution is ranked as the best bank to work for in Spain according to LinkedIn and holds second place in the overall ranking of companies with more than 5,000 employees. BBVA reinforces its positioning as one of the best places to build a professional career, in an environment defined by innovation, continuous learning and real impact.

BBVA has been named 'Best Trade Finance Bank in Latin America' by Global Finance in its 2026 edition, marking the fourth consecutive year the international publication has recognized the bank’s leadership in trade finance across the region. In addition, Global Finance highlighted BBVA’s excellence in this business line in Peru, Argentina, and Uruguay. This award further consolidates BBVA’s position as a benchmark in international trade solutions and strengthens its value proposition at the regional level.

Global Finance magazine has just announced the winners of its 'World’s Best SME Banks' awards. In this year’s edition, BBVA has received a double accolade: ‘Best SME Bank in Spain’ and ‘Best SME Bank in Western Europe.’ These awards showcase its business support model, its growth within this segment, and its ability to boost productivity, digitalization, and sustainability among small and medium-sized enterprises.

BBVA’s Turkish franchise has secured three accolades at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2025, consolidating its position as a leader in sustainable banking and workplace inclusion across Central and Eastern Europe. The bank was named Best Bank for Diversity and Inclusion and Best Sustainable Finance Bank in the CEE region, and also took home the Best Sustainable Finance Bank award for Türkiye.

Garanti BBVA was once again selected for the world’s most prestigious occupational healthand safety award at the 2025 International Safety Awards, organized by the U.K.-based non-profit organization, the British Safety Council. Of the 350 Turkish organizations that applied for the award, Garanti BBVA was the only financial institution to receive the award for the sixth year in a row.

The BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award in Social Sciences has gone in this seventeenth edition to social psychologists Icek Ajzen (University of Massachusetts Amherst), Dolores Albarracín (University of Pennsylvania), Mahzarin Banaji (Harvard University), Anthony Greenwald (University of Washington) and Richard Petty (Ohio State University) for their innovative contributions that have revolutionized the attitude theory and its practical applications.

BBVA was recognized for the second time as the best bank in Spain by The Banker, part of the U.K.-based Financial Times publishing group. Having also won the award in 2022, the bank has now earned the accolade in 2024 for its focus on innovation, digitization and sustainability. BBVA Spain Country Manager Peio Belausteguigoitia described the award as “a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the entire BBVA team” and emphasized the bank’s commitment to integrating advanced technologies to improve customer service. In addition, BBVA received the global award for financial inclusion for its work through the BBVA Microfinance Foundation. The bank was also recognized as the best in Peru and Venezuela.

Garanti BBVA has been honored as Türkiye’s "Best Private Bank for Sustainable Finance" at the Global Sustainable Finance Awards, organized by The Digital Banker magazine, a globally trusted news, business intelligence, research and awards body, servicing the worldwide financial services sector.
