DATA PROTECTION POLICY FOR JOURNALISTS

Pursuant to the regulations on data protection, the following details and informs you how we treat your personal data at BBVA:

Who is responsible for the processing of your personal data?

The Data Protection Officer is the person in charge of protecting the fundamental right to personal data protection at BBVA and is responsible for compliance with data protection regulations. You may contact BBVA's Data Protection Officer at the following address: dpogrupobbva@bbva.com.

What do we use your personal data for?

Your personal data will become part of our press database for the following purposes:

  1. Maintaining contact via telephone, email or other equivalent electronic means, including WhatsApp messaging service;
  2. Sending informative content on BBVA's and the BBVA Group’s current affairs through the means mentioned in the above point;
  3. Convening events, press conferences, presentations and other invitations that may be of informative interest;
  4. Managing accreditation to events and press conferences, as well as access to BBVA facilities

The personal data to be processed are contact details, which may include personal e-mail address or professional or personal telephone number, as well as other data necessary for accreditation at BBVA's facilities (ID card, car registration number).

What legal basis do we use for the processing of your data?

The legal basis that allows us to process your personal data is the consent you give us when you register.

How long will we keep your data?

We will keep your information for as long as our relationship with you continues or until you tell us that you wish to stop receiving communications from us. Once you have done so, we will keep them blocked for a period of 3 years and then delete them.

To whom will we communicate your data?

We will not disclose your personal data to third parties, unless we are required to do so by law.

If you request us to send information via WhatsApp, you agree that your cell phone number and associated information will be treated by WhatsApp, Inc. according to its Privacy Policy

What are your rights when you provide us with your data?

Limitation of processing You may request that the processing of your data is limited in the following cases:- When the processing is unlawful, but you object to the deletion of your data.- When BBVA does not need to process your data but you need them for the exercise or defense of claims.- When you have objected to the processing of your data for the fulfillment of a mission in the public interest or for the satisfaction of a legitimate interest, while verifying whether the legitimate reasons for the processing prevail over yours.
Portability You may receive, in electronic format, the personal data you have provided to us, as well as transfer it to another entity

In any case, you may file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.agpd.es)
To exercise your rights, please attach to your request a copy of your ID card or equivalent document proving your identity
