BBVA Research launches a new Big Data and Artificial Intelligence section to monitor the economy and geopolitics in real time
BBVA Research reinforces its commitment to innovation applied to economic analysis with the addition of a new section on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to its website.
This space will offer a novel way to explore economic, social, and geopolitical phenomena through daily data, interactive visualizations, and AI-powered tools. The section offers an unprecedented way to follow economic developments in real time, as well as economic, social, and geopolitical issues through events reported daily by the media, presented through interactive visualizations and AI-powered tools.
The new section is structured around three main content areas: real-time economics, high-definition economics, and geopolitical analysis using AI.
- Real-time economics: provides high-frequency indicators that enable daily monitoring of key variables such as consumption, investment, and sector activity using anonymized data from interactions with BBVA customers or users of payment methods.
- High-definition economics: provides information broken down by region, province, and city, enabling detailed monitoring of local economic performance using that same data.
- Geopolitical analysis with AI: uses natural language processing and AI techniques to assess uncertainty, geopolitical risk, and international tensions based on thousands of daily news items, among other content and topics.
A commitment to innovation and the spread of economic understanding
With this initiative, BBVA Research seeks to provide society with more accessible, dynamic, and up-to-date information, while consolidating its leadership in the use of big data and artificial intelligence applied to the economy.
"At BBVA Research, we are committed to innovation applied to economic analysis. This new Big Data section represents another step forward in our goal of bringing data to more people, in a more visual and useful way, to contribute to a better understanding of economic and social reality." Jorge Sicilia, Head of BBVA Research and Chief Economist of the BBVA Group.
The new tool opens the door to a new paradigm of analysis that will enable researchers, institutions, and the media to track economic and social changes in real time.
Available at http://bigdata.bbvaresearch.com, this section complements BBVA Research's traditional reports and publications, offering an intuitive browsing experience with downloadable graphics and international comparisons in various areas: consumption, investment, foreign trade, and comparisons between different geographical areas, providing a global perspective.
