BBVA Breaks Into the Top3 of Forbes’ Ranking of Italy’s Best Banks

BBVA has secured 3rd place among the best banks in Italy in the 2026 edition of the 'World’s Best Banks' list published by Forbes. This result marks an improvement over last year, when the bank ranked at the fifth place, and further strengthens its position among the leading financial institutions in the country.

The ranking is based on independent customer feedback, evaluating key dimensions such as trust, customer service, digital experience, and transparency of products and conditions. This recognition highlights BBVA’s commitment to delivering a fully digital, simple and transparent banking experience tailored to customer needs.

BBVA’s progress in the ranking reflects both high levels of customer satisfaction and sustained growth in Italy, where the bank is nearing 900,000 customers nationwide, confirming the strong momentum of its digital banking model.

Unlike traditional industry rankings, the Forbes list is entirely based on clients’ opinions, making this achievement a direct reflection of customer trust.

“Being recognized among the top three banks in Italy by our customers is a great achievement for BBVA,” said Walter Rizzi, Head of Digital Banking at BBVA in Italy. “This result confirms that our focus on delivering a simple, transparent and fully digital banking experience is resonating strongly with customers and redefining what banking can look like in Italy. We will continue to innovate and work every day to earn their trust.”

Since its entry into the Italian market as a fully digital and mobile-first bank, BBVA has quickly established itself as the benchmark challenger bank, thanks to a competitive offering, a simple and intuitive user experience, and the foundations of one of Europe’s leading banking groups. This unique combination allows BBVA to offer the agility and innovation of a top digital player while ensuring the security, solidity, and reliability of a leading international financial institution.
