BBVA joins OpenAI's new company to accelerate AI enterprise transformation
BBVA has announced its participation as a founding partner in the OpenAI Deployment Company, the new company launched by OpenAI, together with 18 leading investment firms, consultancies and system integrators. With a total investment of more than $4 billion, the OpenAI Deployment Company will provide services to facilitate the deployment of artificial intelligence across enterprise organizations.
The new company has been created to address the major challenge faced by many large organizations, which already have access to highly capable artificial intelligence technologies but are now seeking to deploy enterprise-wide solutions across highly complex processes where expert partners and qualified talent are difficult to find.
The OpenAI Deployment Company specializes in helping large organizations deploy advanced artificial intelligence systems in critical business processes. To do so, it will embed engineers within companies to help customers build reliable AI systems directly into the workflows, tools, controls, and business processes they depend on every day, and accelerate AI adoption at scale. Its goal is to help organizations achieve sustained operational transformation, using OpenAI’s leading models and products.
The OpenAI Deployment Company is majority-owned and controlled by OpenAI which has secured the support of investors including TPG, Advent, Bain Capital, and Brookfield. These partners bring operating reach, transformation experience, customer relationships, and implementation capacity.
BBVA has been a flagship client for OpenAI since the signing of the strategic partnership between the two companies at the end of 2025. Both companies are working closely together on product development and learning jointly from the challenges involved in deploying AI solutions across the bank and building a global architecture designed to operate with agents.
