BBVA, the best Spanish company in the European ranking of online CSR communication

BBVA has been recognized as the best Spanish company in online communication of corporate responsibility, according to the Italian consultancy Lundquist. At the IV CSR Online Awards BBVA has risen by one place to 7th company in the ranking of more than 100 European companies.

BBVA is the first Spanish company to appear in this ranking, which bases its results on three areas: clarity, user experience and continuity of reporting. “BBVA is outstanding in the category of clarity, where it is in 3rd place (97 our of 100), offering its users complete documentation and online updates on its CSR activity. It also excels in the social media category from its accounts in Twitter and YouTube and interacts significantly on sustainability through its profiles on Facebook”, summarized James Osborne, partner and head of CSR communications at Lundquist.

Over 50 websites and profiles in the social media

BBVA Social media have received awards this year from the Social Media Sustainability index, which considers communication in the social media to be successful when it is based on a combination of dialog and frequent, relevant, authentic, creative and innovative content. Momentumproject, Bancaparatodos, BBVAsocialmedia, BBVAsuma, Valoresdefuturo, Openmind, FundeuBBVA, RutaBBVA and Adelantecontufuturo are just some of the over 40 websites and profiles on the social media from which BBVA interacts with its communities on projects relating to sustainability and corporate social responsibility worldwide.

The website that brings together all BBVA’s CSR information, www.bancaparatodos.com, was created in June 2010 as a tool based on simplicity and the involvement of all the Group’s stakeholders in the countries in which it operates. It aims to establish a system of communication and dialog, characterized by innovation and interactivity.

Another example of BBVA’s commitment toward a new communication model is the Integrated Report in online format, which offers users a much more dynamic and engaging environment for communication of its CSR report. Since its launch, www.bancaparatodos.com has received several awards, such as the Digital Communication Awards 2011, for offering communication based on relevant and quality content that has measurable mobilization capacity.
