Garanti BBVA has completely overhauled BonusFlaş. With a modern interface, faster NFC Mobile Contactless and QR payment flows, enhanced card management, personalized offers and digital wallet features, BonusFlaş brings wallet, rewards, payments and cards together in a single platform.

Through this new card integration, Garanti BBVA clients can now view and manage cards issued by different banks via a single screen. The feature enables users to track key details such as credit limits, transaction activity, and reward points associated with cards held at other institutions. Techstars Startup Weekend Women Istanbul, organized as part of Garanti BBVA's role as Techstars lead partner in Turkey, has come to a close. Held simultaneously with events in 40 cities around the world, the Istanbul leg took place at Salt Galata from March 6 to 8, coinciding with International Women's Day.

Garanti BBVA has provided €13 million to UNO, one of Türkiye’s leading bread manufacturers. The funding will modernize production lines to reduce natural gas and electricity consumption, enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

Garanti BBVA announced its financial results for 2025, reporting a net income of TL 111.26 billion. Total assets reached TL 4.55 trillion, and lending stood at TL 3.49 trillion. Customer deposits amounted to TL 3.14 trillion, representing growth of 50 percent over the previous year. Meanwhile, the bank maintained its strong capital position, with a capital adequacy ratio of 17.5¹ percent. Return on average equity (ROAE) reached 29.1 percent and return on average assets (ROAA) was 2.9 percent.

Garanti BBVA surpassed TL 1 trillion in sustainable finance as of January 2026, in line with its new target of TL 3.5 trillion for the 2018-2029 period. This achievement is a reflection of the bank’s long-term commitment to sustainable finance.

Garanti BBVA has extended its partnership with the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) for another five years. The sponsorship, which began in 2001, is the longest-running sponsorship agreement in the history of Turkish basketball. Garanti BBVA Payment Systems (GÖSAŞ) recently released the report ‘2025 Card Payments in Türkiye.’ The study, which analyzes trends in card spending, bank and credit card ownership and e-commerce growth, revealed rising credit and debit card spending volumes, increased contactless use, and a growing preference for upfront transactions. The study was based on data from the Interbank Card Center (BKM).

Mahmut Akten points to 2025 as a year of strong performance and value creation for Garanti BBVA, setting the foundation for a clear and forward-looking strategic agenda for 2026. Following a period of high inflation in Türkiye, the economy has entered a normalization phase. Akten says Turkish banks should prepare for another challenging year, as regulatory credit limits are expected to remain largely in place to support disinflation efforts. While some adjustments may be considered, Akten underlines that maintaining financial discipline will be critical to achieving price stability and sustained growth.

Garanti BBVA has signed one of the largest sustainability-linked loan transactions ever extended to a corporate borrower in Türkiye by acting as Sustainability Coordinator throughout the loan tenor of the €1.7 billion financing provided for the Antalya–Alanya Highway Project.
