Garanti BBVA Takes Home a Design Hat Trick

Garanti BBVA was internationally honored for its design excellence, earning two distinctions from the iF Design Awards for its updated Garanti BBVA mobile app and the Pulse app, and another from the A Design Awards for its ‘My Home, My Car, My Travel’ project — showcasing its highly innovative approach to user experience and digital design.

The iF Design Awards are one of the most prestigious design competitions worldwide - recognizing the best designs since 1954. Garanti BBVA won awards in the Brand and Communication Design category for its updated mobile app and in the User Experience Design category for its Pulse app. In addition, the bank was recognized at the A Design Awards, an international competition for design ingenuity and innovation. The projects were assessed by a jury of global design experts.

These awards once again demonstrate the power of combining technology and design. The redesigned Garanti BBVA mobile app offers its 17.6 million digital customers a more intuitive, personalized experience to better meet their needs. The overhaul focused on making access to financial transactions easier. The app’s new thematic areas, ‘My Home, My Car and My Travel’, help customers manage their finances more simply and intuitively.

Meanwhile, the Pulse app was developed for internal use by Garanti BBVA Technology teams to monitor the bank’s technology infrastructure in real time. By detecting potential issues early, Pulse enhances operational resilience and improves customer satisfaction, providing transparent system monitoring and supporting faster, more coordinated teamwork across the organization.

Garanti BBVA Deputy General Manager Ceren Acer Kezik emphasized that the bank views technology as more than a tool, but as a bridge to make customers’ lives easier. She explained that the bank’s ‘We do it together’ approach is a reflection of its “commitment to supporting users every step of the way in their financial journeys, designing experiences that are simple, accessible and personalized,” she said.

Through BBVA’s Radical Client Perspective, the bank integrates user feedback directly into its product design, ensuring that every solution adds real value to customers’ lives, she added. “These awards validate the power of harnessing technology and design to enhance user experience. Congratulations to all our teams for their impressive work,” she said.

Garanti BBVA Deputy General Manager İlker Kuruöz noted that the bank considers technology an area where it can connect with customers. “We are changing the cold, distant perception of technology by transforming it into a force that genuinely makes a difference in our customers’ experience,” he said. All Garanti BBVA processes are managed by teams of experts, including the Experience Design team. “From artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to cloud technologies and secure data infrastructures, the bank pairs its investments with design-driven solutions that enrich our customers’ financial lives,” he explained, expressing his gratitude to the teams for their hard work and dedication.
