Meet the 10 finalists in BBVA’s Open Talent 2017 Identity challenge

BBVA has announced the first finalists for its 2017 Open Talent competitions - starting off with the key issue of identity.

From hundreds of entries submitted, BBVA has selected the 10 best fintech identity solutions to take through to the final of the Open Talent Identity challenge, which is being held at the K(NO)W Identity Conference in Washington DC, USA, later this month.

Entries came in from across the globe, with the focus of innovations ranging from cloud-based solutions using the full spectrum of biometric security checks to real-time AI backed video conference identity checking.

But from amongst all the entries received, the judges have picked the following as their finalists, meaning these are the Fintech Identity companies to watch:

For this, the ninth edition of its Open Talent fintech competition, BBVA has grown the event significantly to offer even more people the chance to work with a world-leading digital business.

Just as BBVA’s new tagline of Creating Opportunities promises, the BBVA Open Talent program has strengthened from one competition to five this year, giving dozens of high-growth businesses the opportunity to grow, in what is probably the world’s biggest fintech challenge.

Put simply, this year BBVA is hosting three focused world-wide competitions (Identity, AI and Fintech for Companies), more than a dozen country-specific opportunities, two specialist challenges for specific groups of people (Women in Fintech and Financial Inclusion), and an all-encompassing, catch-all Global Trends competition to find the absolute best fintech idea from anywhere around the globe. Winning startups will have the chance to work with senior leaders across the bank, make business connections and win prizes in excess of 200,000 euros.

Everything will conclude at the BBVA Open Talent Global Summit in October, where the winners will get the chance to compete for the overall Fintech prize.

Although entries to the Identity specific competition are now closed, anyone with an ID related solution and who has missed the deadline can still enter our Global Trends competition - which is open to all fintech ideas.

Meanwhile, a reminder that entries for the AI specific competition close on May 22nd.
