Garanti BBVA Receives Six Euromoney Awards
Garanti BBVA has received six awards at the 2026 Euromoney Awards for Excellence, recognizing the bank’s leadership in retail banking, consumer lending, diversity and inclusion, and corporate social responsibility. The bank was named Best Retail Bank, Best Bank for Consumer Lending, Best Bank for Diversity and Inclusion, and Best Bank for Corporate Social Responsibility in Türkiye, in addition to awards for Best Bank for Consumer Lending and Best Bank for Diversity and Inclusion in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Euromoney Awards for Excellence are considered one of the banking industry's most prestigious international awards. For over 30 years, the program has assessed financial institutions in the markets and regions where they operate based on their performance, innovation, and customer impact, using comparable metrics, structured submissions and a transparent research process.
The bank’s award for the Best Retail Bank and Best Bank for Consumer Lending in both Türkiye and Central and Eastern Europe reflect Garanti BBVA’s efforts to put customers at the heart of everything it does through a ‘radical client perspective.’ Through its "radical client perspective," the bank aims to listens closely to its customers and understand their needs, while leveraging technology to deliver tailored solutions for each of its 30 million customers. This approach enables Garanti BBVA to provide a highly personalized banking experience through services ranging from loans, deposits, and card recommendations to proactive guidance from its digital assistant, Ugi.
The awards for diversity and inclusion and corporate responsibility also reaffirm Garanti BBVA’s leadership in sustainability. The bank has made sustainability a key component of its strategy for many years, and views this approach not only as a responsibility, but also as a way to generate long-term value. Through initiatives spanning environmental impact, social benefit, inclusive growth, and equal opportunity, Garanti BBVA continues to create sustainable value for its customers, the economy, and society.
Garanti BBVA CEO Mahmut Akten stressed what an honor it is to be recognized with six awards. “Being selected as Türkiye’s Best Retail Bank and the Best Bank for Consumer Lending in both Türkiye and Central and Eastern Europe confirms the success of our customer-focused service model,” he said. He added that the awards for diversity and inclusion and corporate responsibility are especially meaningful to Garanti BBVA, as they “reflect our long-term commitment to creating value through digitization, sustainability and initiatives that benefit society.” Finally, he concluded by expressing his appreciation of all Garanti BBVA colleagues whose hard work and dedication made these awards possible, as well as “our customers for their trust.”
