Garanti BBVA Wins Three Awards at Global Finance’s World’s Best Investment Banks 2026 Awards
Garanti BBVA scooped three awards in the Central & Eastern Europe category of the World’s Best Investment Banks 2026 Awards announced by Global Finance. The bank cemented its regional standing by performing strongly in debt capital markets and infrastructure finance, building close relationships with international investors, and successfully executing transactions.
As part of the “World’s Best Investment Banks 2026: Central & Eastern Europe” awards announced by Global Finance, Garanti BBVA was honored in three separate categories. The awards recognized the performance of investment banks in 2025, with Garanti BBVA receiving honors for Best Debt Capital Markets Bank, Best Infrastructure Finance Bank, and Best Investment Bank in Türkiye.
Commenting on the awards, Sinem Edige, Executive Vice President of Garanti BBVA, said: “We see these awards, which we received in three different categories across the Central and Eastern Europe region, as a reflection of our expertise in investment banking and the strong relationships we have forged with international investors. Through our debt capital markets and structured finance solutions, we develop financing models tailored to our clients’ needs that create sustainable, long-term value. We will continue contributing to Türkiye’s position in international markets and supporting investor confidence.”
Outstanding performance in investment banking
Throughout 2025, the bank attracted strong demand from international investors for its debt issuances. Its $500 million Tier 2 issuance generated nearly $2 billion in demand, while a second $700 million issuance completed later in the year generated around $1.8 billion in demand. Transactions during the period, particularly its Tier 2 issuances, garnered exceptional levels of oversubscription.
Garanti BBVA was also a key lender in numerous major transactions, providing approximately $890 million in financing across 20 deals in the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
