BBVA has been named Best Private Bank in Colombia, Mexico and Peru at the 2026 Global Private Banking Awards, organised by Professional Wealth Management (PWM) and The Banker, both publications of the Financial Times Group.
The Global Private Banking Awards recognise excellence in the private banking sector, combining qualitative analysis with the quantitative performance of leading institutions worldwide. Entries are assessed by an expert panel of senior industry professionals from the Americas, Asia and Europe.
In this year's edition, BBVA has received the awards for Best Private Bank in Colombia, Mexico and Peru. The judging panel praised BBVA's client servicing model, which brings a global approach to local businesses. “The bank's advisers understand the overall picture of each family's wealth and provide strategic guidance, while explaining any solutions in simple language,” said Yuri Bender, Editor-in-Chief of PWM. “Legacy planning is a particularly important success factor in Peru, where BBVA is strengthening ties with educational institutions to promote the study and analysis of intergenerational wealth transfers.”
Salvador Sandoval, Head of BBVA Global Wealth, highlighted the work undertaken to provide increasingly specialized and personalized advice, combining international expertise with in-depth knowledge of each market. “Our goal is to support clients with a value proposition that helps them make wealth management decisions and build long-term relationships based on trust, delivering a unique experience across all geographies. The strength and positioning of our local banks put us in an unparalleled position to double our business in the coming years,” he said.
