The two companies have been authorized by the Central Bank of Argentina and the Secretariat of Industry and Commerce to take joint control of FCA Compañía Financiera, a firm until now wholly owned by Stellantis and specializing in auto financing for the brands owned by the auto giant.

BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) leads the project finance market in Chile, with seven transactions and an estimated volume of approximately USD 500 million in 2025, according to LSEG Syndicated Loans data as of the end of September 2025. The three leading rating agencies have upgraded BBVA’s rating over the past three weeks. On Tuesday, Fitch upgraded the long-term senior preferred debt one notch, from A- to A. It also upgraded BBVA’s long-term issuer rating, from BBB+ to A-, with a stable outlook, among other improvements. This latest move joins the recent upgrades by S&P and Moody’s.

The EIB Group (European Investment Bank and European Investment Fund) has invested €377 million in the ¨BBVA Consumer 2024-1¨ securitisation fund. This investment will enable BBVA to channel nearly €800 million into the real economy to finance energy efficiency projects and new mortgages for highly energy-efficient homes. The operation also includes financing for projects to boost the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-caps in Spain.

Last Friday, the Chair of BBVA formally opened the new Miami office of BBVA Global Wealth Advisors (GWA), BBVA’s U.S. registered investment advisory unit. Carlos Torres Vila met with the team at this new office, comprised of over 30 professionals.

The contingent convertible capital instruments (CoCos) also known as Additional Tier 1 bonds are  hybrid bonds that combines debt and equity elements. Its defining characteristic is that it may be converted into shares if the CET1 capital ratio drops below a specific level.
