BBVA is the number one Spanish bank in Time magazine’s 2024 ranking the World’s Best Companies
For the second year in a row, the U.S. publication named BBVA one of the best companies in the world in a ranking developed in conjunction with Statista. The financial institution is the top Spanish bank on the list and ranks eighth worldwide.
BBVA is one of the top 50 companies in the world, according to Time. The bank climbed 38 positions from last year to number 45 in the global ranking. The second edition of the ‘World’s Best Companies’ consists of 1,000 companies in different sectors, and is a comprehensive compilation of the companies with the best results in three areas: employee satisfaction, revenue growth and sustainability.
On a sectoral level, BBVA maintains its leadership. It was once again selected as the best Spanish bank and the eighth best bank in the world. “This recognition by Time rewards the work of over 120,000 employees, and encourages us to continue contributing to social and economic development in all the countries where we operate,” said Paul Tobin, Global Head of Talent and Culture at BBVA.
This recognition joins that of Newsweek, which recently included BBVA in its list of the world’s most trustworthy companies. This year, the bank also received accolades from LinkedIn Top Companies in Spain, Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, the Merco Talento Spain report and Top Employer Spain.
Second edition of the ‘World’s Best Companies’ by Time and Statista
To compile the ‘World’s Best Companies 2024’, Time and Statista established 15 assessment criteria in three categories: employees, results and sustainability. Over 170,000 survey respondents from 50 countries participated in the process of determining the best companies in the world. They also assessed each company’s profit from the past three years and different indicators related to environmental protection and corporate social responsibility were taken into account.
