BBVA has issued €1.5 billion at 5 years, at fixed interest. It is its first issue of senior non-preferred debt, a new category of liability with the capacity to absorb losses, that allows financial institutions in the European Union to comply with MREL requirements. The issue has been a success, with demand of around €5 billion, allowing it to close with the lowest price in Europe at this maturity, 70 basis points above the mid-swap rate, and a coupon of 0.75%.
The company Interactive Advertising Bureau has published its 2017 Annual Social Network Study for Spain. Based on a study of 1,248 people aged 16 to 65, they estimate the number of social network users in Spain to be 19.2 million people.
The Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (ANFAC) reports that registrations of electric and hybrid vehicles were up in the last six months. In totally, 35,708 vehicles were registered between January and July of this year, an increase of 82.7% with regard to the same period last year.
The Spanish Video Game Association (AEVI) has presented the sector’s revenue figures for 2016, which have also been reported by the web portal Meristation. GFK and Gametrack data indicates that this industry had total sales of EUR 1.163 billion in Spain, up 7.4% with respect to 2015. Such figures mean that video games are the first choice for audio-visual free time in Spain.

According to the report Milk as a means of promoting health in Spain: calcium and its effect on health of the Spanish population prepared by the Spanish Nutrition Foundation (FEN), the Ibero-American Nutrition Foundation (Finut), and the Spanish Federation of Nutrition, Food, and Dietetics (Fesnad), 80% of the Spanish population does not consume required amounts of calcium.
