According to an article published in the journal Frontiers in Public Health, the percentage of overfat adults and children (those with excess body fat) in developed countries is extremely high and substantially greater than that of overweight and obese individuals. The researchers involved in this study found that between 62% and 76% of the world’s population have reached body fat levels that can impair health.

BBVA has signed a 240 million euro sustainable loan in favor of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, the first loan of this kind granted by the bank to an autonomous region in Spain.

Türkiye Garanti Bankası A.Ş., announced its financial statements dated June 30, 2017. With an asset size of TL 335 billion 942 million 185 thousand, Garanti’s contribution to the economy through cash and non-cash lending reached TL 272 billion 980 million 362 thousand, based on the consolidated financials. The Bank posted a net income of TL 3 billion 100 million 273 thousand in the first six months of 2017. The Bank delivered an ROAE (Return on Average Equity) of 18.1% and an ROAA (Return on Average Assets) of 2.1%.

The data included in the latest Federal Reserve Consumers and Mobile Financial Services report, published by Forbes, shows how quickly people are adopting mobile banking apps. For the past five years, the number of mobile phone owners with a bank account using a mobile banking app has doubled, reaching 43% in 2015.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) did not alter its forecast for global economic growth this year and next, although it did slightly increase its expectations for growth in the eurozone and China,  Reuters reports. The IMF is predicting 3.5% global growth in 2017 and 3.6% in 2018.

Some 12.9 million babies around the world did not receive any vaccinations in 2016, according to a World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF report. The study demonstrates the need to progress in this field, which is so crucial to children’s health.  This means that 1 in 10 babies were not immunized against tetanus, whooping cough, diphtheria, in addition to other potentially fatal diseases.
