Top 10 personal finance apps on Google Play and Apple Store in September
Mobile banking platforms provided by banks nearly always dominate the Finance category for stores like Google Play and App Store. However, other kinds of applications joining the top 10, be they corporate or not, can be indicative of user demands for managing their finances.
September was no exception, with the list pointing to certain user trends, particularly when jointly considered with the previous month's top 10.
Android users once again established banks in the top 10 positions, with standout exceptions of Fintonic and PayPal. These "exceptions" are increasingly less so, with both applications now entrenched in the top 10 of both application platforms.
As for the Apple list, we find a new entry in the shape of sincomis, a search engine that uses geolocation to help users avoid any ATMs that charge fees. With a vast amount of configuration options, this app is symptomatic of the pragmatism that is becoming increasingly prevalent among the applications most frequently used to deal with personal finances, including those developed by banks.
Another noteworthy inclusion is BBVA Wallet, now a mainstay in the top 10. This month it became the only representative of mobile payments in Spain on both Android and Apple platforms.
