CEO Carlos Torres Vila, along with CFO Jaime Sáenz de Tejada, used the occasion of the presentation of bank’s second quarter 2017 results to offer some interesting data on the bank´s digital transformation.
Türkiye Garanti Bankası A.Ş., announced its financial statements dated June 30, 2017. With an asset size of TL 335 billion 942 million 185 thousand, Garanti’s contribution to the economy through cash and non-cash lending reached TL 272 billion 980 million 362 thousand, based on the consolidated financials. The Bank posted a net income of TL 3 billion 100 million 273 thousand in the first six months of 2017. The Bank delivered an ROAE (Return on Average Equity) of 18.1% and an ROAA (Return on Average Assets) of 2.1%.
A global cyberattack could lead to $53 billion in financial losses, according to a Lloyd’s of London report co-led by Cyence and covered by Reuters. The study explored the possible financial losses that would result from a hypothetical attack on the cloud and computer operating systems around the world.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) did not alter its forecast for global economic growth this year and next, although it did slightly increase its expectations for growth in the eurozone and China, Reuters reports. The IMF is predicting 3.5% global growth in 2017 and 3.6% in 2018.
