Banco de Vizcaya, which was founded in 1901, over four decades after Banco de Bilbao, had had only two top executives up until the 1940s. Like Banco de Bilbao, its major competitor in Vizcaya, the true head of Banco de Vizcaya was its management, and not its Board Chairman.
In the suburbs of Lima, Peru, people can be found from all around the country. Although communicating with them might be difficult for others, Zenovio Parejas (Financiera Confianza, BBVA Microfinance Foundation’s bank in Peru) knows how to relate to them.
BBVA Compass participated in the first annual “World Trade Day Atlanta” in early May, organized by the World Trade Center Atlanta.
Until the first years of the 1940s, neither Banco de Bilbao nor Banco de Vizcaya had a permanent chairman. Despite the fact that the former was founded in 1857, and the latter, in 1901, their respective boards of directors had previously been chaired by individual board members in rotating periods of one year.
Since the universe was formed, matter and dark energy have waged a battle of epic proportions. The astrophysicist Catherine Heymans explained it this way at the BBVA Foundation: "The gravity of dark matter tries to keep everything together, but its evil sister, dark energy, undoes its work and ensures that our universe expands more rapidly every day".
