Adding to the list of recognitions BBVA USA has received in the past few months, MyBankTracker listed BBVA USA in its Best of Banking Awards, naming it one of the Best South Regional Banks for 2021.

Aurora Garza-Hagan, CEO of BBVA Transfer Services, has been elected Chairperson of the Money Services Business Association (MSBA), a trade association focusing on the non-bank money services industry.

In 2020, the world saw the beginning of a global pandemic that created major ripple effects across the board, including the banking industry. As BBVA USA began to adapt, so did its Global Wealth team - an effort that saw a continued increase in Customer Net Promoter Scores via the bank’s Voice of the Client (VoC) Experience Program for the eighth year in a row.

BBVA has successfully closed the sale of its 100 percent share capital in BBVA Paraguay to Banco GNB Paraguay, a unit of Grupo Gilinski, after obtaining all required authorizations.

In an interview posted on BBVA’s corporate website, Carlos Torres Vila takes stock of 2020 and offers his vision for next year. The Chairman assures that, despite its complexity, "it has been a year of relevant strategic achievements” and “we face 2021 with an unparalleled position of strength to invest in growth and to increase shareholder distributions".

Once the pertinent regulatory authorizations have been obtained, BBVA Allianz Seguros - Allianz and BBVA’s new bancassurance joint venture that was announced in April this year - will begin to operate in Spain. BBVA Seguros has contributed around 1.18 million insurance policies to the new company, representing approximately €300 million in premiums issued by the end of 2019. The new company combines BBVA’s distribution capacity in physical and digital channels with Allianz’s innovative knowledge to develop simple, digital non-life insurance.
