Generation T refers to those born from 2010 onwards. These are children who know the world through a digital screen and what is more important through touch. Hyperconnectivity, speed and instantaneousness are some of the words that go along with these children as they grow up.

Fair-trade coffee, quality guarantee, ecological tomatoes… consumers read the labels on the things they eat. But is there any way of checking that what they say is correct? In order to do so, you would need a register of the processes to which the product has been submitted, something blockchain can do.

BBVA presents Baby Planner, a new functionality within BBVA’s app and website that allows customers and non-customers to understand the expenses associated with having a baby. The monetary expenditure for families with a child under three is 10% higher than for those without, as concluded by estimates from BBVA Research after factoring in other differences between households. This added functionality serves to give new parents the information they need to plan their finances. BBVA Baby Planner also provides the economic effects associated with maternity and paternity-leave and other schemes to offer “work-baby balance.”

Dreamers are individuals who were brought to the United States before the age of 16 and who don’t have lawful immigration status.  They’re pursuing the American dream. They came to the United States as children and many of them discovered as adolescents that they had entered the country without documents. They’re the “dreamers” – immigrants and, most of them children of immigrants who are trying to escape from their legal limbo.

Toys are evolving at the same pace as technology.

Known as smart toys, they already incorporate technology. They can access the Internet, interact with children and compile all types of information that is put online.

The digital revolution has changed the rules, personal relations, business, communication and the way everyone uses their time. The impact of technology is always associated with achieving greater freedom, but it has also pushed us to levels of distraction and dependence that have changed how engage with the world.

The impact is profound, but hard to measure accurately. Sociologist and economist Manuel Castells believes that people, companies and institutions feel how profound this technological change is, “but when closely examined through rigorous empirical research, the speed and scope of the transformation turns out to not be exact.”

BBVA Compass took part in many events in the run up to Sunday’s big game, but it was the kid-friendly one that shined brightest. On Feb. 2, BBVA Compass hosted the 13 Make-A-Wish children headed to the game and their families for a private dinner at BBVA Compass Stadium. In addition to the dinner, the children and their families toured the Houston Dynamo and Dash’s home and spent time with Houston Texans Linebacker Brian Cushing and Houston Dash Forward Kealia Ohai. Hosting the event underscored the bank’s efforts to give back and create special opportunities as part of the big game festivities.

If there is something that unites the BBVA Paraguay team is its members’ passion for the brand. And no other color reflects that passion better than blue.

“It is really moving to see this type of initiatives and how a Foundation like ours can do so much in favor of society. These people have access to loan facilities, but they manage to move forward thanks to their own efforts and will to fight. Their work is spectacular and we are already seeing progress in future generations; their kids and grandchildren go to school and many even make it to college. For me, it has been an incredible visit,” said Francisco González during his visit to some of the projects supported by the BBVA Microfinance Foundation (BBVAMF) in Soacha, a city just outside of Bogota (Colombia).

Summer is finally here! While many of us may picture ourselves jetting off to a tropical island to do nothing but enjoy cocktails while bathing in a secluded beach…  the truth is that, unfortunately, due to a lack of money and time, some of us will have to save our dreams for later and spend the summer in the city. But, hey, it’s ok! There are thousands plans waiting for you – low-cost, even for free – and you probably didn’t know anything about them.

Summer just started and you’re already dying to get out of the unbearable heat in the city. You’d like to go rest on the beach, but you tend to procrastinate and leave things to the last minute, even more so when you travel. Not to worry, you’re still in time to find the deal you’ve been dreaming of.

That technology can reach almost anywhere is a half-truth. A festival where people dress in white, wearing red bandanas tied around their necks, holding rolled-up newspapers in their hands, doesn’t sound quite like the ideal breeding ground for technology innovation. But, however, technology has made its way deep into the heart of celebration, far deeper than what one could guess at first glance. Now that the txupinazo, the inaugural rocket launch, is just a few hours away, maybe it is the right time to take a look at the techies side of Pamplona and the Sanfermines, the running of the bulls.

We know you’ve been waiting for that trip to the beach, to that country you’ve never visited before, or to the place with fresh, clean air. But you also probably don’t want to come back broke. It’s hard to manage money when you’re away from home! We don’t know what we spent our money on or who paid for what.

Saul Rodríguez works in Global Corporate Communication and is very aware of social media’s power, not only to divulge information and create communities, but also to make people smile. We asked him to tell us about his projects, which he of course did in a social media format.

Qasanqay is a small village 3,800 meters above sea level in the heart of the Andes, in Ayacucho. The country’s Independence was signed in this Peruvian region in 1826; this is also where Sendero Luminoso originated, the terrorist group that triggered the savage violence in the 1980s against the poorest population and law enforcement agencies. Over 69,000 Peruvians died.

Some sports we practice alone, some we do as part of a group. But, in this case, it is not how, but the reason why we practice a sport that matters.  Carlos Soria often talks about how he met his wife on a mountain. Also, he always wanted his daughters to feel at home in nature, in a setting that brought so much joy to his life. This is a reason why: Understanding this popular mountaineer’s fascination for climbing, for difficult challenges, for what, ultimately, is an essential part of his life.
